Day 14 - Your earliest memory.

Hm…the earliest most vivid memory I have is with my Grandpa Warren, may he rest in peace.

When I was around 4-5 years old, he used to baby sit me after pre-school and kindergarten. He’d come and get me off the bus at my house, and drive 3 blocks away to his house. (Very convenient living so close to my grandparents I may add.)

We would go back to his house for lunch and he would always make us both a nice grilled cheese sandwich, topped off with a side drink of orange soda. Then we’d go about our day, going to do errands that he had to do.

We’d go to the pool store and get chemicals for the pool, chlorine, ph filters, etc, etc, and then he’d take me to the candy store or Toys R Us. He’d buy me a little bag of candy, and we’d be off to the toy store.

He never really bought me anything at the toy store to be honest, but he’d take the bikes off the shelves, and let me ride around the store on them (even though you’re not supposed to), or ride around in those little electronic trucks and motorcycles.

We’d then go back to his house, go for a swim in the pool, or a dip in the hot tub.

Then we’d go back upstairs into the house, dry off and fall asleep on the couch together, or if it was a nice day go and fall asleep on each other on the hammock between two big oak trees.

Those were great times, and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss it.
